Galway offers all the amenities of a modern city, but with the intimacy, friendliness and security of a small town, and has been described as the most European yet typically Irish of all Irish cities. Galway comes alive particularly in the months of July and August with its internationally renowned Arts Festival and Horse Racing Festival.
There is no shortage of music and theatrical events, all year round. The city boasts some of Ireland's best restaurants, traditional pubs and shops.
Facilities in and around the city include golf courses, horse riding centres, swimming pools and leisure centres, cinemas, a bowling alley and a fishing school. The River Corrib, renowned for its salmon fishing, flows through the centre.
And, of course, don't forget the traditional Irish welcome we extend to visitors - in the school, in the city, and in the host families. Students will leave wanting to come back! |
